I Am Charlie, I am Charlie Hebdo and Je Suis Charlie…
Freedom of Speech has been given a blow today. But I believe that these repugnant, horrific and barbaric actions will strengthen our stance to protect our right to that which we have worked so hard to attain and preserve.
As a Canadian living in France, I wish to share this brief perspective. In my humble opinion what happened here was a declaration of war on a sovereign states territory by agents of our jihadist enemies and should be treated as such! To be quite clear, there is a war going on in the Middle east and we are on the opposing side. We are considered the enemy. So don’t be surprised when the chicken comes home to roost. However, to all of those who think that what happened today will reduce our resolve and that we will use this event to further separate and polarise our citizens of Democracy…”You Can Go Forth and Multiply!”
As a caveat, we must find alternatives to an Oil based economy, so we can free ourselves from the yoke of those countries living in the 14th century dark ages.
