Quick Fashion Reality Advice-Bad Magazine Editorials and Money

Breeze Magazine

I keep hearing a lot of flack from literally hundreds of people on the forums everywhere generally complaining about how poorly or not at all they get paid for Fashion Editorials. Let me give you a general and I did say General rule of thumb and this only applies to commercially viable magazines and not the Trendy Press. They generally pay nothing at all.

The worse the fashion content quality of the magazine the MORE they pay. That is a fact. Why? Because in most cases, working for those magazines is the Kiss of Death and if it gets around that you did, it may take quite a long time to get out of the rut associated with that decision.

Oh and make sure you use a Pseudo name if you decide to work for the above types of bad magazines! Catch my drift?

Excellent insight and answer to the query concerning some publications not paying models. Historically, the top fashion publications such as Vogue, Elle, Allure, Maria Claire pays minimum of $300…but the prestige of being on the cover of one of these publication and exposure a models gets is the reason the pay is low. Its more about tradition than money.
