I absolutely think this video works on all levels. The pairing of these two great songs with the video imagery is masterful. I actually purchased both these songs on iTunes after hearing it on the vid.

Benjamin, I see you are still using Pentax on your shoots. As a fellow Pentaxian, I’m a lone wolf in a sea of Canikons at fashion shows. Glad to see that a top notch photog like you uses it.

    • Thanks Ed, I am sure Frédérique Renaut will appreciate the compliment.

I’ll forward this link to one of my fashion bloggers.

Wow, that was creatively inspiring in so many ways!

As DJ back in the days I can tell that the smoke doesn’t look real at all but it doesn’t matter as it works great anyway.

Awesome lighting and photography by Mr Kanarek as always.

Awesome work both of you, you gave me another idea to post a feature about you which will be a great follow up to ‘In the wind’ post i made before. I will inform you when its done.

Also, i would like to write an article on your blog about importance of photoshop actions, as i have created ‘Pro Photoshop Actions’ recently which is a very handy tool for all digital photographers who can’t afford expensive retouchers. Take a look here:

It will change the way people think about actions.

Great shoot and resulting images as usual Benjamin! But please don’t abandon the true “Behind The Scenes” format. I look forward to seeing set ups, equipment etc. We don’t even see you in this one.

    • Thanks Pierre for your comment.
The Direction that we have chosen to take for the “Behind the Scenes” videos are about giving a complementary feel and atmosphere to the still images. We, as well as the publication, do not want our videos to become a technical tutorial as they are directed for the fashion publications we are working for and their audience 😉 I understand your frustration though, that is why to compensate, Ben is sharing a lot of technical information in the posts of his blog.

I loved the photos, how did you do it? did you mixed two different exposure photos or you have dragged the shutter. Thanks…

    • Shot at 1/8th of a second.

      • Natasha Kertes

but if i see available tungsten lights of the room in the back and your white lighting sort of profoto flashing , how is it possible ? mixed lighting? even at f8 everything in the back would be dark,.. please explain,.. its fascinating,..

        • Again, it is because of a long exposure. Generally between 1/4-1/15th of a second.

          • Sid

Natasha, he said f1/8 and NOT f8.

Gorgeous! I love everything about this shoot? Did you use a Dry Ice mist machine or was that done in post ?

    • Thanks doctorontop. Post-prod… Impossible to use a smoke machine in a place where they have serious smoke detection devices!!!! But the light was set up in aiding to achieve this effect.
